Wild Cairns was created by Scott and Gus, both with a shared passion for people, the outdoors, teamwork, and creating positive group experiences. After years of seeing how powerful outdoor activity can be in building confidence, communication, and connection, they set out to create a space that focused on fun without pressure.

The aim from the start was simple: to offer high-quality, instructor-led outdoor activities that feel inclusive, supportive, and genuinely enjoyable. Every session at Wild Cairns is designed to bring people together, whether it’s through laughter on the assault course, friendly competition in the Mini Highland Games, or trying something new for the first time.

Scott and Gus are hands-on with the day-to-day running of Wild Cairns and take pride in the atmosphere that has been created at Whitekirk Hill. The focus is always on safety, professionalism, and making sure every group leaves having had a great experience.

What Makes Wild Cairns Different

At Wild Cairns, our focus is on delivering outdoor experiences that are fun, inclusive, and carefully paced for groups. We don’t believe in high-pressure, boot-camp style sessions. Instead, our activities are designed to encourage participation, build confidence, and create shared moments that groups genuinely enjoy.

All of our sessions are led by experienced instructors who take the time to explain each activity, support participants, and adapt sessions to suit the group in front of them. Safety is always a priority, but never at the expense of enjoyment.

Set within the scenic surroundings of Whitekirk Hill, Wild Cairns offers a relaxed outdoor environment that feels welcoming from the moment groups arrive. Whether it’s a school group, corporate team, or private booking, every experience is tailored to make the most of the time spent with us.

Location

Wild Cairns is based at Whitekirk Hill, near North Berwick in East Lothian. Our location offers a spacious outdoor setting with easy access from Edinburgh, the Lothians, and the Borders, making it ideal for group visits and organised events.

Both North Berwick and East Linton train stations are within easy reach, and we are also located on a local bus route, making public transport a practical option for many visitors. On-site parking is available, including electric vehicle charging facilities, and we actively encourage car sharing where possible to help reduce environmental impact.

Clear arrival instructions are provided ahead of each booking, and groups are welcomed on arrival and guided through their experience by our instructors from start to finish.
